Our Story

Fioris Cottage is more than just a vacation rental; it’s a story of transformation and love. Fioretta, affectionately known as Fiori, grew up in the quaint village of Loutses, Corfu. After nearly 40 years in England, she returned with her husband, Frank, to renovate a nearly derelict traditional cottage into a luxurious holiday haven. Together, they have created a space that combines traditional Greek aesthetics with high-end comfort, inviting guests from all over the world to share in their dream.

The Cottage

Every detail of Fioris Cottage has been thoughtfully curated to offer you a perfect blend of traditional charm and modern amenities. The cottage features a cozy, air-conditioned bedroom with a queen-size bed, a living room with a sofa bed, a fully equipped kitchen, a stylish bathroom, and a spacious veranda perfect for enjoying the serene surroundings. The outdoor area boasts a large swimming pool, barbecue facilities, and a lush garden, providing an idyllic setting for relaxation.

Loutses Village

Nestled in the lush hills of northern Corfu, Loutses Village is a serene and picturesque locale that invites visitors to step back in time. With its narrow streets, traditional stone houses, and friendly locals, Loutses offers a glimpse into the authentic rural lifestyle of Corfu. Stroll through the village and discover a charming little church, quaint tavernas, and shops selling local produce such as honey. The tranquility of Loutses provides a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle, making it an ideal spot for leisurely walks and soaking in the peaceful atmosphere.

Local Beaches

Corfu is renowned for its stunning beaches, and those near Fioris Cottage are no exception. Agios Spyridonas Beach, with its golden sands and crystal-clear waters, is perfect for sunbathing and swimming. Almyros Beach offers a more secluded experience, surrounded by lush vegetation and calm seas. When visiting with children there is no where better to spend a day on the beach than Kalamaki. With its long stretch of sandy beach, incredibly shallow waters and selection of bars and tavernas, you and your family can spend the day on Kalamaki stress free. Also look out for the inflatable water park towards Apraos. A fun experience for children (and adults) of all ages.

The mountainous terrain around Loutses provides excellent opportunities for hiking and nature walks. Trails wind through olive groves, pine forests, and open fields, offering hikers stunning vistas of the Ionian Sea and the distant mountains of Albania. The trails vary in difficulty, making them suitable for both casual walkers and experienced hikers. Along the way, you might encounter local wildlife, ancient ruins, and panoramic viewpoints that offer spectacular photo opportunities. Hiking in this region is a wonderful way to connect with nature and experience the raw beauty of Corfu.

Cuisine

Greek cuisine is famous for its fresh ingredients and bold flavors, and the local tavernas in and around Loutses offer a true taste of this culinary tradition. Enjoy mouth-watering dishes such as moussaka, souvlaki, and fresh seafood, all prepared with locally sourced ingredients. Many tavernas also serve homemade wine and traditional desserts like baklava and loukoumades. Dining in Corfu is not just about the food; it’s an experience that includes warm hospitality, vibrant music, and the opportunity to dine al fresco under the stars. In particular we recommend a short trip to the village of Old Perithia where you can indulge in the finest, traditional Corfiot cuisine. Taverna Foros is definitely one of the highlights, showcased by British TV chef Rick Stein in his docuseries “Mediterranean Escapes”. Since first being broadcast on the BBC its popularity has skyrocketed so it’s best to book in advance. Another incredible place to eat in the old village is Taverna Evdokia, situated in the village square where meat lovers will delight in ordering lamb chops by the kilo.
